Equipment Required
The ArrayTube™ reader is a rapid, compact, single tube reading device, which enables the capture and visualisation of the array image. It comes with a USB interface and is easily connected to a PC or laptop.
The ArrayMate™ reader provides a higher throughput of samples by reading up to 6 ArrayTubes or 12 ArrayStrips at one time. Each ArrayStrip comprises 8 wells, with the potential for 600 probes in the base of each well.
The software is a powerful imaging tool for the analysis of array images of multiple formats and ensures a high level of data integrity.
All other equipment required is standard in most molecular biology laboratories, including PCR machine, incubator, thermomixer and pipettes.
E. Coli
The Identibac E. coli Genotyping is a DNA array for the detection of virulence genes in Escherichia coli isolates (see Gene List) . It is presented in an convenient ArrayTube format, which contains 146 probes (in triplicates) printed onto an array located in the bottom of the ArrayTube. The probes represent 92 virulence genes but to encompass gene variability some genes are represented by more than on probe.
