Equipment Required
The ArrayTube™ reader is a rapid, compact, single tube reading device, which enables the capture and visualisation of the array image. It comes with a USB interface and is easily connected to a PC or laptop.
The ArrayMate™ reader provides a higher throughput of samples by reading up to 6 ArrayTubes or 12 ArrayStrips at one time. Each ArrayStrip comprises 8 wells, with the potential for 600 probes in the base of each well.
The software is a powerful imaging tool for the analysis of array images of multiple formats and ensures a high level of data integrity.
All other equipment required is standard in most molecular biology laboratories, including PCR machine, incubator, thermomixer and pipettes.
Influenza A Genotyping
> 200 markers for H- and N-typing in less than 24 hours
Identibac influenza genotyping is a novel test of a new microarray system for influenza A virus H- and N-subtyping. Beside all known H- and N-types to date the test identifies the current “swine flu” (mexican variant of H1N1) virus and highly pathogenic H5N1 strains in one test within 24 hours.
In contrast to the widely used H-typing (only) in real time PCR tests the identibac test identifies the H- and N-type of the virus and can therefore detect new emerging H/N combinations as well as double infections.
Gene rearrangements and mutations can switch the severity of epidemics and pandemics so that virological surveillance is a crucial part of infection control.
The identibac test can be adapted to new target sequences if needed.
- Detects over 200 different alleles of all known H- and N-subtypes and multiple infections
- Rapid pathogen detection + subtype identification within 24 hours
- Identifies “swine flu” as well as high- and low virulence “bird flu”
- For surveilance and monitoring outbreak scenarios avoiding work intensive sequencing
- Kit will be adapted continuously to include evolving genetic markers
- For reference labs + infection control centres
- For epidemiologists, scientists, veterinary health institutions, forensic medicine
